Prompt #11: "I'm Innocent Your Honour!"

Just a fun, and quick prompt. Maybe not fairy tale inspired, but I thought you guys might like this one for some inspiration to get you back into writing!

Prompt: Your character is being judged for a crime they didn't commit, and they need to prove themselves innocent. What are they charged with? Are they actually innocent, or do they know more than what they pretend to?

As always, this can be any character of your own or a fandom you love. This could go a million ways, and it doesn't even have to be a court. Perhaps your villain is framed for something they claim to not have done. They could actually be innocent. Perhaps the Hero DID commit a crime...

As always, let me know what your take would be on this and feel free to use or create any character you want. If you like the prompt, but don't have a character, feel free to make one up (this goes for all prompts.) My aim is to get you writing. No matter what, there is no wrong answer.

Hope you all enjoy this prompt and get some inspiration!

  1. At first, he's not even sure what was being discussed. Why would he have to avoid Jessica? Jessica was his girlfriend! Only then the accusation came, that Alex was supposedly abusing her. He couldn't defend himself because he felt like the world was underwater. Jessica was trying to explain, but Alex couldn't even look at her, let alone listen to her words. Her friends were glaring daggers into Alex, telling Jessuca not to make excuses for the violent jerk, but Jessica kept trying to defend him, and as she did, the realization dawned on Alex: these friends were always trashing their boyfriends, so Jessica would bring up complaints she had, exaggerate, and since dnying the truth is what abuse victims often do, that was how this was being perceived.

Alex decided then and there Jessica's friends were no longer his. He had never befriended their boyfriends because those guys were brutes, insulting and degrading their girlfriends and one another, and Alex wanted no part in that. He just hadn't realized the problem went both ways until he was being accused of emotional abuse by a angry gang of four women.

Alex texted Jessica that night "we're done". He couldn't stay with someone who lied about him, no matter how much he had loved her. He had loved her.
