Disney Fanfiction Tips: How To Write Rapunzel

Intro

Just something new I wanted to try out. We have been analyzing characters and movies and how to write a character that is like a disney character. But what if you want to write a fanfiction and just want to know how to write a specific Disney Character? This is what these short, but hopefully helpful posts will be for. I'll go over a character and simply give you their personality so you can use it as a reference to keep your favorite character in character!

We are starting today with my favorite princess that I know by heart: Rapunzel. So let's see how to write her character.

(Don't worry, the 12 character archetype series is not cancelled. But with the baby coming any moment, it's hard for find the energy to analyze movies and characters. Still wanted to give you all something, so I hope you will enjoy this 😉)

Rapunzel's Personality

Good Traits

• Bold
• Creative
• Energetic
• Friendly
• Extroverted
• Resourceful

 Bad Traits

• Impulsive 
• Ignorant (literally knows nothing about the outside world)
• A little manipulative (Using leverage to get others to do things)
• Naive 

 Extra

• She has a lot of hobbies. Painting is her favorite, but if you listen to the intro song, she also likes to read, make dresses, do paper mache, and a lot more. Experiment with the different hobbies. It doesn't always have to be painting.
• Don't forget her frying pan as a weapon in a fight. It's funny, and a signature thing for her. Doesn't mean she will always manage to instantly knock her enemies out though.
• She's been sheltered her whole life with a mother who manipulated and gaslighted her. Maybe let her have some trust issues.

Fun Prompts

For some extra flavor, I will try to give you some fun prompts for a short story or One Shot. You are free to use them however and wherever you want if you are looking for some inspiration.

• Write a scene or chapter for her first day officially back at the castle as the Princess Of Corona. What does she have to learn? How do people at the court treat her? Let her make a big mess of everything but come out on top in the end!
• Have her reflect on her previous life. For eighteen years she has had a different life with a mother she thought she loved. How does she feel? Angry? Conflicted? Are there any good memories she remembers with Gothel?
• A date with Flynn (either gone hilariously wrong, or actually good. Not everything has to be intense and action packed.)
